Wave Orthotic for Children with Flat Feet

Footerella The wave orthotic for Kids

Children’s school shoes are very important to the health of the growing foot. Some children’s feet can have mild to severe misalignment just like the teeth can have.

Using a very thin foot Wave Orthotic aligner inside school shoes can keep the foot perfectly formed.

My son has flat feet and needs an insole. Should we buy this in his shoe size or buy 1 shoe size up?

    • footerella says:

Dear Danica, we suggest buying his shoe size as the wave orthotic allows for growth of 2 1/2 shoe sizes. If the orthotic is too big it will not control the foot effectively – so accurate sizing is important. Best wishes, Footerella

I saw on your Instagram the before and after image of the foot with these. How long does this treatment take? I think both my children have this. Thanks, Claire

    • footerella says:

Dear Claire, The treatment time depends on the amount of degrees that the foot leans-in. Usually for every 5 degrees it will take 6 months in a growing child. In an adult female 3 months for each 5 degrees of correction and an adult male 6 weeks for every 5 degrees. The elasticity of the ligaments in the ankle and foot determines the speed of ankle and foot correction. Our advise is to keep wearing them until the ankles and feet are straight and arched. Keep buying the next size up as the foot grows for a child until the heels are straight looking from behind. Children take 2-4 years to correct their feet and ankles usually. Best wishes, Footerella

my son is 19 months – do you have small size? Doctor said he has flat feet and needs medical shoes but I think this looks better. Katerina

    • footerella says:

Dear Katerina, usually young children need to walk and run for some time to develop the arch muscles. There feet can appear flat. However, if the ankles are leaning inward and causing the arch to collapse then this is cause for treatment. To be safe, see a Podiatrist to check which type of flat foot your child has. Wave orthotics will fit even the smallest child’s foot once they are walking. Best wishes, Footerella

I was told my the karate teacher that my daughter needed to see a dr about her flat feet. Should I bring her now or after we return from summer vacation and getting bigger school shoes? Thanks, Brenda

Dear Brenda, great that the Karate instructor mentioned this. Martial arts is very good for keeping the muscles string in the feet. to correct the joint alignment we advised a wave orthotic. Best wishes, Footerella
